Essex melodic death metal five-piece Olympus are set to release their new three-track EP, 'L’appel Du Vide', on 6th November [self-released], marking the band’s next chapter following the strong reception to their previous EP 'Knowing It Shall Wake'.
To celebrate the announcement of the new EP, Olympus have released the lead single ‘Misguided’, out today! [self-released].
‘L’appel Du Vide’ French for “the call of the void” takes Olympus into darker and more personal territory. Across its three tracks, the EP explores themes of self-worth, depression and suicide, tracing a journey through the darkness of intrusive thoughts towards a crucial realisation that you are not alone, and hope can ultimately save you.
Rather than glorifying the darkness it explores, L’appel Du Vide confronts it head-on. The EP reflects the internal struggle of feeling isolated, questioning your own worth and becoming consumed by destructive thoughts, while ultimately turning towards connection, resilience and hope.
Hailing from Essex, UK, Olympus are a five-piece melodic death metal band, combining the intensity and aggression of traditional death metal with modern melodic elements.
Balancing ferocity with melody, the band draws from a broad range of influences while maintaining a clear focus on strong songwriting, dynamic arrangements and memorable performances. Their sound is both familiar and distinctly their own, delivering the weight and aggression expected from extreme metal while retaining a strong melodic identity.
With L’appel Du Vide, Olympus are taking that momentum into something heavier, more vulnerable and ultimately more hopeful.
